The Revd. Norman Styles was born in 1927. He came to the Donoughmore/Donard parish in 1966 and served there for 21 years. He wrote this history of the parish spanning the period 1669 to 1969. The rector in 1669 was Henry Styles -an ancestor of Norman Styles. Tragically, in 1987 while enroute to a funeral in Dunlavin during a heavy snow storm, he suffered a fatal heart attack.
